Acts of Service

Hughes Senior Center

For over 35 years the Hughes Senior Center, in partnership with Central Missouri Area Agency on Aging, has been supporting vibrant senior life and nutritional needs to seniors in Lebanon and the Laclede County Area. Seniors remain active because of activities, our nutrition program, socialization and volunteer opportunities here at the center. Our home delivered meal program helps those with nutritional needs that cannot get out to the center to remain in their home and stay independent for as long as possible. Last year we served 1028 persons with 57,406 meals. 20,699 were in our congregate program and 36,707 meals went to the homebound clients.
The meals are a suggested contribution of $4 each for participants, but no one is turned away due to inability to contribute.
Last year volunteers gave 4575 hours to the center, Volunteer opportunities include homebound meal delivery, dining room, front desk, gift shop, kitchen, just to name a few.
